TVLampsnbulbs.com is reporting that the price on the XL2100U has dropped to $89. Sony is still charging $199, but you can save over $100 dollars from MSRP. This price even beats Amazon, who is selling XL2100U from several places starting at $169.99.
On top of getting this great price, you’ll also get free shipping, and 90 days to make sure the lamp works the way it needs to.
Philips, the self-proclaimed inventor of UHP technology has decided to sell lamps directly to consumers. You’ll find their ad when you search online, it appears they are only bidding to show on searches done on Google.
While they may be the originator of the technology which powers DLP lamps, their pricing is horrible. They charge $169 for an XL-2100U lamp when you can pick one up for $95. The pricing is probably a result of the agreements Philips has with other companies who sell their product.
It turns out that XL2100U wasn’t the only part number used for this lamp. If you’re in Europe and purchased a Sony Grand WEGA television, your tv (or tele) uses the XL2100E.
Make sure that you purchase the correct one.
